The 12v entry step on your INTERSTATE 'One' motorhome is a convenient feature designed to provide easy access in and out of your vehicle. Regular maintenance and understanding how to troubleshoot common issues can ensure it operates smoothly for years to come. This guide will walk you through the necessary maintenance steps and how to address issues should they arise.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance of your 12v entry step is crucial for its longevity and reliability. Follow these steps to keep it in top condition:

Regular Cleaning: After each use, especially in areas with dirt or sand, brush off the step thoroughly. This prevents grit and debris from entering the motor and causing damage or operational issues.

Automatic Retraction: The step is designed to retract automatically once the ignition is turned on. This feature ensures the step is safely stowed while the motorhome is in motion and reduces the risk of damage.

Manual Operation: A switch located at the doorway allows for manual operation of the step, enabling you to extend or retract it as needed. This is particularly useful for adjustments when the vehicle is stationary.

Troubleshooting

Despite regular maintenance, you may encounter issues with the 12v entry step. Here are the most common problems and how to solve them:

Step Does Not Retract with Ignition:

If the step fails to retract when the ignition is turned on, the issue is likely due to a blown fuse.

Locate the fuse box in a panel on the right side of the steering wheel. It can be accessed by removing it with a Philips head screwdriver.

Refer to the provided image within the vehicle's manual to identify the specific fuse that controls the step. It should be replaced with a 10 amp fuse.

Step Does Not Operate at All:

If the entry step is unresponsive, another fuse may be at fault.

Check the 15 amp fuse located on the REDARC panel. If this fuse has blown, replacing it with a new 15 amp fuse should restore functionality to the step.

Additional Tips:

Always carry spare fuses in your motorhome to ensure you can perform quick fixes on the road.

If replacing the fuse does not resolve the issue, or if the step appears to be physically damaged, it is advisable to consult a professional for further inspection and repair.

By following these maintenance and troubleshooting steps, you can ensure the 12v entry step on your INTERSTATE 'One' motorhome remains functional and reliable. Regular care and prompt attention to any issues will enhance your motorhome experience and keep your adventures running smoothly.
