This guide will assist you in the operation of your Truma Gas/240v Hot Water System. If followed correctly, you'll be enjoying hot water in your prestige motorhome in no time.
Step 1: Powering up the System
The initial step involves powering up the system. To do this, you need to ensure the 12v power switch is on at the Redarc control panel. This control panel is the "brain" of your motorhome's electrical systems, and it is crucial for the correct operation of the hot water system.
Step 2: Choose Your Preferred Power Source
Next, decide whether you'd like to use gas or a 240v power lead for heating the water.
If you're opting for gas:
- Make sure your gas bottle is turned on and contains enough gas for operation. Running out of gas halfway through heating your water can be frustrating!
- Remove the external vent cover, which is usually located outside the vehicle. This cover should be removed to ensure efficient gas flow and prevent any blockage.
- Turn the Truma switch to 70 degrees. This control is typically located above the kitchen area in your motorhome.
If you're choosing the 240v power source:
- Start by ensuring your van is plugged into a power source via a 240v power lead. This connection should be to mains power to provide sufficient energy for your hot water system.
- Make sure the hot water 240v switch is in the 'on' position. This switch is usually located next to the water heater.
Step 3: Wait for Hot Water
After choosing your preferred power source and ensuring everything is turned on, you'll need to wait for about 20-35 minutes for the water to heat up. During this period, avoid using any hot water taps in your motorhome to achieve the best results.
If a red error light appears on your Truma hot water system during the heating process, this signals a possible issue with the system. Turn off the system and ensure all the previous steps have been correctly carried out before turning it back on.
Remember, if you experience any issues you cannot troubleshoot, our team is always ready to assist. Safe and happy travelling!
