Solar Power

This roof-mounted solar system has been designed to meet your typical 12v usage needs for a standard free-camping experience, excluding the use of an inverter. Under regular circumstances, you can expect to enjoy 3-5 days of independent living before you'll need a bulk charge.

A bulk charge is necessary to replenish the power in your lithium batteries. This can be achieved in two ways:

  1. Mains Power: Plug your motorhome into a 240v power source. This is often the quickest and most convenient method if you're staying at a campsite that provides power.
  2. Driving: Take your motorhome on a long drive. During the drive, the batteries will be charged by the DC-DC charger.

Keep in mind that the effectiveness of your solar charging can be impacted by a number of factors. Parking your motorhome undercover, under a tree or in significantly overcast weather will reduce or even eliminate solar charging. Additionally, dirty solar panels can impact the efficiency of solar energy production, so it's important to keep your solar panels clean for optimal performance.
