Rear Airbag Suspension

Modified on Thu, 20 Jun at 1:20 PM

Some customers opt to have rear airbag suspension fitted to their INTERSTATE

motorhome.

The manufacturer of these airbags is ‘The Air Bag man’.

The manufacturer recommends a maximum pressure of 55 psi (5.5 bar). However, a comfortable ride for your INTERSTATE motorhome is between 20-30PSI.

How to inflate:

Step 1:

Locate the valves located behind the driver's side rear wheel.

Step 2:

Set the Psi on the pump and inflate to the desired pressure.

Step 3:

Once the airbags are inflated to the recommended pressure, your INTERSTATE motorhome is ready for a smooth and comfortable journey.

How to test if my airbags are leaking?:

Step 1:

Inflate the airbags to 25 PSI

Step 2:

Spray the whole airbag, Tubing and fitting connections with soapy water in a spray bottle.

Step 3:

Check for signs of bubbles where the tubing and fitting connections meet and the whole airbag itself.

If bubbles are coming from the fitting and tubing connection, you will need to disconnect the tubing and check for any scratches before reconnecting. If all is clear, recut with a sharp Stanley knife or Airbag Man tube cutter and connect.

If there is a leak on the airbag and the bubbles are visible by the soapy water treatment or submerging the airbag in a bucket of water, the airbag will need to be replaced.
